Founded in 2013 by Carlos Barreto, Guilherme Avansi and Philipe Laboissière, we have been working in the SCIENCE AND PETROLEUM RESERVOIR ENGINEERING area for 11 years, improving processes of evaluation and decision making in oil fields through innovative solutions in the areas of reservoir simulation, geoengineering, rock petrophysics analysis and risk and economic assessment. We develop projects, consultancies and research in several areas of petroleum engineering, mainly in the areas of petroleum reservoir engineering
We are a start-up Brazilian company that works in PETROLEUM SCIENCES AND ENGINEERING area, aiming to improve evaluation and decision-making procedures for field development and management. We are focus to, develop new solutions in reservoir simulation, geo-engineering, petrophysics and economic evaluation and risk analysis. Our business is to develop projects, consultancy and research in several areas of Petroleum Science and Engineering, mainly related to Reservoir Engineering
SOLPE proposes to apply scientific and technological knowledge in the activity of Exploration & Production in an interdisciplinary way. One of the major goals is to contribute to the development and management of petroleum fields, developing technological solutions, Research, Development and Innovation (RD&I), software and training in Reservoir Engineering.
SOLPE’s core team consist of Ph.D., MS.c. and specialized analysist in different areas. SOLPE has been developed projects and services for oil companies and research centers, besides lecturing courses in petroleum science and engineering.
The company is based on Campinas-Brazil, an important city in the countryside of São Paulo state, located 100 km (62 mi) Northwest of São Paulo city, being the headquarter located inside the The Science and Technology Park at UNICAMP, one of the most prestigious Brazilian technology universities. Campinas is one of the most economic-attractive regions in Brazil, especially those related to information technology, engineering and electronics, due to its efficient roads and airport infrastructure, qualified workforce and, universities and research centers.
We are actively working on the new production paradigm developed by companies in the oil sector, the result of the fourth industrial revolution, showing a significant advance in the relationship between man and machine. We provide more economical, agile and autonomous solutions within the INDUSTRY 4.0 concept for the following areas:
The mission of SOLPE is to add quality and efficiency to exploration and production projects, creating and applying innovative solutions to better evaluate reservoirs.
The vision of SOLPE is to be a company with an international excellence, leading in the Brazilian petroleum market, compromised with high quality services and focused on the development of innovative solutions for reservoir evaluation, integrating experimental lab data and solutions to make a more efficient computational evaluation.

Graduated in Civil Engineering from the Federal University of Rio Grande do Norte - UFRN, Master of Science in Sanitary and Hidraulic Engineering from the University of São Paulo - USP, Doctor of Philosophy in Petroleum Science and Engineering from the University of Campinas - UNICAMP. Since 2006 has acted in projects related to reservoir engineering. Nowadays, he works in reservoir engineering, reservoir simulation, optimization and risk analysis. Integrated UNISIM Research Group/ UNICAMP, participated in projects developed for Baker Hughes and PETROBRAS, mainly in production strategy, smart wells and polymer. He is currently the founding partner and director of SOLPE.
Master in Computer Science
Graduated in Computational Engineering from the Pontifical Catholic University of Campinas - PUCC, Master in Computer Science from the University of Campinas - UNICAMP. Since 2003 has worked in software development in the area of R&D focused on the oil and gas sector. Integrated UNISIM Research Group/ UNICAMP, was project manager for the ADDLabs Laboratory at the Fluminense Federal University (UFF) and software engineer at Schlumberger. She is currently the software engineer and project manager of SOLPE.
Among the several projects, innovative solutions and services, SOLPE offers:
Risk and Uncertainty Analysis
Reservoir Characterization
Reservoir Simulation
Petrophysics
Economic Evaluation
Petroleum Reservoir Engineering and Economic Evaluation
SEA is a software for the economic evaluation of integrated oil reservoirs. This software is used with ECLIPSE commercial simulator and PETREL platform, both from Schlumberger
The main features of this software are related to:
Flexibility to enter costs for different production and injection fluids
Calculation of multiple economic indicators, such as Net Present Value (NPV), Return on Investment (ROI) and Internal Rate of Return (IRR)
Possibility to include time and price variables via a graphical interface
Ease of using different economic models and tax regimes, such as the Brazilian Concession and Sharing schemes
